Is everyone having trouble keeping their student ambassador focused on all the end of school activities instead of anxiously jumping ahead to their trip? Is everyone ready to wish them Bon Voyage and celebrate as they receive their Student Ambassador pins? They have so much to be proud of themselves for….the learning, fundraising, and preparing for their journey to represent our country. Do we have awesome kids, or what??
As we decided at the meeting, our Bon Voyage and pinning ceremony for the ambassadors will be Sunday, May 15 at 2:00. This would be a great opportunity to bring family members or special sponsors, etc to join our celebration. Jon was able to secure the Dodge City High School Commons Area for our event, which will be great. It is located on the south side of the school….just keep driving south in the parking lot past where we normally park, and turn right (west) and you will be able to park outside the Commons Area. As we agreed, we’ll be having “hot d’oeuvres”, fruit and veggies, and desserts instead of an actual meal. Below is everything I’ve gotten so far that people are bringing. If you want to email what you’re bringing, that would be great. If not, no problem – just bring your favorite treat and I think we’ll have plenty of great food for all! We’ll provide the plates, cups, utensils and napkins, but be sure and bring whatever serving utensil you need for your dish.
Diann (Erica) – plates, cups, utensils and napkins
Josephina (Anthony) – pop, Gatorage, water, dessert
Tiffany’s mom Wilma (Delia) – spicy meatballs, mini fruit pizza
If you have any questions, just email me or give me a call.
Looking forward to the party!
Diann
FROM JON -------- DON’T FORGET YOUR PASSPORT!!!!!
At this, our absolutely last get together prior to the airport for departure, there is several things we will need to get accomplished.
First and most importantly is Passport turn in. I will be collecting every passport and prepping them for travel prior to our departure. The leaders will retain control of the passports throughout the experience. There will be a parent sign off for both departure and return when it comes to the passports. We want to make sure everything is back in its proper place upon return. If you forget to bring your passports to the Bon Voyage party you will need to make sure you bring them to the Airport on departure day. Important reminder. No passport no travel :(.
Secondly, Any last minute changes or information will be handed out and gone over at this time. Including any questions that come up between now and then.
Last but not least we have a special pinning ceremony representing the end of the preparation time and the beginning of the best three weeks in your life!
We will be handing out all people to people polos and travel lanyards. Remember, these lanyards are to be worn on the outside of your clothing, every minute you are outside of your hotel room. It is for your safety and the leaders ease of recognition. There are no extra lanyards. If you loose yours you will be given a made to order lanyard of whatever we have on hand.
